We Are Farang
November 9th, 2006The Thai people have a name for those that are Caucasian. We are called farang - pronounced (sounds more like) falong, with a rolling “R” that sounds more like an “L”.
I’ve heard several different explanations for the origin of farang, but I think this Wikipedia reference is the more accurate.
